Dear Taboreans,
The Runes of Magic team would like to wish you and your families, friends and guild members a wonderful new year. They look forward to lots of new exciting content, challenging instances, engaging quests and epic battles in the year ahead.
They also wish you good health and a successful year for your life outside of Taborea.
They thank you for an unbelievably great year in 2011!
Here is a brief overview of the different things that happened over the past action-packed 12 months:
January 2011
- The second Runes of Magic novel “Asiya – Legends” was announced.
- Flo & Andy asked for your own ideas for their comics and received numerous suggestions.
February 2011
- The results of the Christmas charity campaign were announced. A total of €82.000 was donated by Runes of Magic and Bounty Bay Online players, which was given to Save the Children
- Four new unseen costumes were introduced in the game for the "Gaming goes Fashion" project.
- The closed beta for Chapter IV was announced
March 2011
- For German users, the Runes of Magic "Fire Demon" Pizza was launched with “Call a Pizza” and became available from 01.03. along with the in-game pet "Pizza Bakers Companion".
- Runes of Magic celebrated its 2nd birthday - the community managers and the community had a lot of fun together
- Froggie found shelter - the results of the competition earlier this year were presented and Froggie lived happily ever after in his new home
April 2011
- They hope you enjoyed their April fools joke about the release of "Flo & Andy - The Movie".
- Numerous lucky players were given the opportunity to participate in the closed beta of Chapter IV
- Easter arrived and the Wabbits hopped onto the Runes of Magic servers
May 2011
- The first video appeared of the Redhill Mountains
- Sismond's diabolical plans were unveiled
- The release of Chapter IV was announced for 6/16/2011
June 2011
- The first RoMCast with Lead Community Manager Mike "Silberfox" Kiefer and the English Community Manager Matt "Zalmah" Rider appeared
- Chapter IV opened the doors and let you into the “Lands of Despair”
- A large-scale class feedback project was launched and considerable community feedback was gathered, analysed and reported by the community management team
July 2011
- The SteelSeries Runes of Magic mousepad was launched
- They launched “Goldrush in Taborea”, a large raffle where you had the chance to win a real, solid gold bar.
August 2011
- The month of August was almost exclusively focused on the GamesCom
- They launched the FrogCast and featured a special second episode “Road to GamesCom”.
- The sweepstakes ticket contest for GamesCom began.
September 2011
- A completely new event descended upon Taborea; Patch 4.0.2, Fairy Tale.
- They launched the brand new multi-tasking tool “OverWolf” especially for Runes of Magic, allowing you to Skype, record videos, visit Facebook and more, without leaving the full screen mode.
- Rock Taborea – Machinima contest featuring the Van Canto song “Betrayed” began, where our community could make Runes of Magic music videos and have a chance at winning some great prizes.
October 2011
- A new Polish server joined the European family: Perun
- Their FrogCast for October featured the the RoM-stage presentation from GamesCom 2011
- Oh, and let’s not forget…. Halloween!
November 2011
- Patch 4.0.5 "Souls of the Past" featured the latest instance "Tomb of the Seven Heroes" and introduced the beautiful "Tergothen Bay", and the level cap was raised to 70
- The Arcane Transmutor video tutorial was launched for newer Runes of Magic players
- The competition "Around the World with SteelSeries” began, allowing you to win a Runes of Magic Mousepad, Mouse and professional gaming headset.
December 2011
- Their new program "Score for More" began, giving you the opportunity to earn points for various activities and win numerous in-game rewards, including some very cool new mounts.
- The official Runes of Magic Sapphire graphics card became available for the German market, which included a cute companion.
- The open beta for Runes of Magic in Browser began, and will run until 9th January 2011.
